Letter: Says Obama did not help gender wage gap

Published: February 12, 2017 12:00 AM

Here is clear evidence that President Barack Obama has been engaged in unequal treatment of women for his entire tenure in government; however, I don't recall seeing the marches during his first few weeks in office? In either of his two terms?

Cybercast News Service, June 30, 2008: Does Obama pay women less than men? Women on his staff made $6,000 less than men. On average, women working in Obama's Senate office were paid at least $6,000 below the average man working for the Illinois senator.

Washington Post, July 1, 2014: Male-female pay gap remains entrenched at White House. The White House has not narrowed the gap between the average pay of male and female employees since President Obama's first year in office. The average male White House employee currently earns about $88,600, while the average female White House employee earns about $78,400. That is a gap of 13 percent.

The Washington Examiner, July 6, 2016: Obama White House still pays women less than men. Female staffers in the White House earn 89 cents for ever dollar that male staffers earn. That's on par with one of the numbers often reported for the misleading "gender wage gap," which finds women earning 77 or 78 or 89 cents to a man's dollar.
