Kudos to the city's Environmental Awareness Committee for gaining approval to survey the city about trash preferences. I wholeheartedly agree that it is time for the City Council to give further consideration to improving our trash collection and recycling services.
Personally, I feel that changes to our current policy would help minimize the trash on our streets and the wear and tear on our roads. It would save residents money, improve city aesthetics and accentuate the city's stance on the importance of recycling. Most importantly, it would make our streets safer for our children, minimizing the almost daily garbage truck traffic on neighborhood streets. I look forward to participating in the survey, and I hope that the "trash talk" results in citywide improvements to our garbage collection policies.
