Letter: Tennis project stirring talk, needs funding

Published:

I am very grateful to the

Hub for running the recent article about our plans to establish a Hudson Community Tennis Facility, details at www.hudson.edu.

Over the past few weeks, I have received a lot of encouragement from tennis enthusiasts and other community-minded people about this project. It is clear that there is a lot of demand for good public tennis courts in Hudson. Contributions are rolling in but we have some work to do, and not much time. We need to hit our fundraising target by May 31 in order to launch Phase 1, replacing the existing six courts. Missing this deadline would mean missing the summer construction season, and would push us back another year.

As a 1979 HHS graduate, father of a Hudson Middle School student, proud Hudson resident, and lifelong tennis player, I have my own reasons for investing in this project. I hope you will find your own reasons to invest, too.

Tom Tobin, Hudson
