Letter: Praises all who supported Good Neighbors in 2013

Published:

We wish to

send a heartfelt "Thank You" to all who have supported the Cuyahoga Falls Unit of Good Neighbors during 2013 serving Cuyahoga Falls, Stow, Munroe Falls, Hudson, Peninsula and Silver Lake.

We gratefully thank everyone for all contributions.

We wish to share with everyone some of the things we were able to accomplish with the community's help:

• Emergency food orders provided during 2013 was 3,215, which supported 950 families;

• School clothes and supplies were provided to 461 children. A shoe voucher was given to each child for a total of $4,470;

• At Christmas, we served 527 families representing 533 adults, 142 seniors and 864 children with bags of food, household items, clothes and three or four gifts for each person; and

• Our total clientele during the year was 950 families (210 seniors, 1,330 adults and 930 children) which, due to the community's generosity, we were able to help with various needs including clothing, household items and food. Many of these families were assisted throughout the year.

We want community members to know that since we function totally by volunteers, more than 86 percent of the community's donations go directly to our clients.

On behalf of the people we serve, we would like to say: Thank you for caring.

Jo Ann Trayers, Corresponding Secretary, Cuyahoga Falls Good Neighbors
