As long time
residents of Hudson, my wife and I have seen Hudson grow and prosper over the years. We truly have a lot to offer and be proud of including the strong sense of community, a vibrant downtown, safe neighborhoods, and exceptional schools. It's no surprise that Hudson has received numerous accolades for best place to live and best communities for young people.
Recently, I was reminded of one of the greatest attributes in this community -- our schools. Along with an outstanding season thus far, the entire community should be extremely proud of what our students, teachers, coaches, and parents have accomplished in the areas of academics, music and the arts, and the fantastic new athletic facilities.
Additionally, the Hudson School District has also done a great job cutting costs and maintaining financial stability despite reductions in State funding.
With little controversy in the air, and an off year election, I wondered how many people were aware of the upcoming School Board and City Council elections. Voters will have an opportunity to choose three candidates for the School Board and three citywide Council candidates -- three and three.
Given the importance of the schools to our community and the importance of continued cooperation between the schools and the city, I'd encourage our citizens to get to know the candidates and make your vote count.
