I read with interest the
Nov. 25 article by Laura Freeman regarding the proposed Veterans Trail connecting downtown to surrounding cities. I built my home in 1988 off of Herrick Park Drive and in all that time have never been able to walk into town conveniently. For us to do so, we must walk one mile to Hudson Aurora Road and then into town. We do, though, have a "sidewalk to nowhere" that connects Hines Hill to Herrick Park Drive. Why that was built first, I will never figure out. Before the $1.7 million trail is built, I would like to request that my 24 years of tax dollars be allocated first to a simple sidewalk, less than a mile long on Route 91, that would connect downtown Hudson for many of us living north of the city.
