Letter: Mayor thanks community for joining in celebration of holidays

Published: December 9, 2012 12:00 AM

Since 1948, the

Hudson Community Services Association has organized and raised funds for the annual Community Holiday Lighting Program.

While the city of Hudson government pays for the installation and power to run the lights, HCSA collects donations from local businesses, foundations and private citizens to fund the lights, cords, and greenery that transforms Hudson into a Currier & Ives winter wonderland setting. I know we all look forward to seeing our beautiful, vibrant downtown illumined for the Holidays.

Again this year, we are asking for your help to continue this welcomed tradition. The cost for this program approaches $10,000 annually. HCSA relies totally on the support of Hudson citizens and businesses for this program. Your financial support is urgently needed. If 100 households donated $100 each, HCSA would have the funding for this year's lights. Without the community's continued support, the program would not be possible.

Please join Debbie and me in donating today. Please send your tax deductible donation to The Hudson Community Services Association, P.O. Box 284, Hudson, OH 44236. Make checks payable to HCSA Holiday Lighting Fund.

HCSA is a 501 (C3) organization that provides a tax credit and receipt with your donation.

I thank all of you in advance for supporting this worthy cause.

William A. Currin,

Hudson Mayor
