NOTE OF THANKS: Community steps up for Election Day food drive

Published:

Thank you for the prominent placement of the picture of the collection bins for the Election Food Drive in the Nov. 4 Hudson Hub-Times. I am sure that this helped create a very successful food drive as we collected more than 18 bins of food on Nov. 6. I would like to thank the Hudson community for their donations in this effort. This was a very timely collection as we enter into the holidays and after a severe drought this summer that we see already affecting food prices. Thanks also to all the faith communities and volunteers who staffed the polling locations thanking people for their contributions. Hudson has proven time and time again that we are very giving community and step up to provide for those in need. The Hudson Community Service Association Food Pantry located at Rejoice Lutheran Church on Stow Road benefited from the drive, and the Akron/Canton Food bank received a large contribution as well. Finally, a big thanks to all the students at McDowell Elementary school who contributed through their own mock polling on Election Day. They contributed a whole bin on their own. Efforts like this make us proud to say that we live in Hudson. Rev. Michael Conklin, Hudson Ministerial Association Secretary
