Hudson resident Sharon L. Bonhomme (nee Giddings) died July 25, 2014. She was 79.
She was born June 10, 1935, in Battle Creek, Michigan to the late Allan Giddings and the late Agnes Staudohar. She grew up on Gull Lake in Augusta, Michigan and graduated from Battle Creek High School. A graduate of Western Michigan University, she pursued a teaching career in Jackson, Michigan. While in Peoria in 1961, she met and married Bob Bonhomme of Vincennes, Ind. The Bonhomme's settled in Hudson in 1971, with their three daughters.
During the 70s, Mrs. Bonhomme was active in the Hudson community, coaching softball, leading Girl Scouts and playing tennis. She was instrumental in the formation of the Ladies Softball program and the Hudson Ladies Tennis League. More recently, Mrs. Bonhomme was involved in numerous clubs and volunteer activities. Until her death, she was a member of the Woman's Club of Hudson and the Hudson Antique Club, serving in many leadership roles in both organizations. She also was an active member and past president of the James Ellsworth Questors Chapter and was a member of the Hudson Blossom Women's Committee and served on the board of directors for Actor's Summit.
She was a devoted grandmother of six and aunt to many nieces and nephews. She was the number one fan of all of her grandchildren's activities and could be caught on the sidelines, audience or in the backyard, cheering the loudest. Her warm heart, creativity, sense of humor and thoughtful nature will be missed by her family and many friends.
Mrs. Bonhomme was the wife of the late Robert M., mother of Suzanne (Kevin) Locke, Judith (Hugh) Tobin and Ann (Crit) Thomas; grandmother of Connor and Sarah Locke, Hale, and Eliza Tobin, and Olivia and Emerson Thomas; sister of Margie (Ron) Robbe.

A memorial service is slated for July 30 at 11 a.m. at the First Congregational Church of Hudson, 47 Aurora St. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the service.
