Alfonso J. "Hap" DiMichele, 99, died April 29, 2014, at his residence, where he was born Jan. 5, 1915.

He was a Hudson businessman, owning a shoe maker and repair shop. He was a volunteer for the Hudson Fire Department for 40 years and a member of the Hudson Police Department.

Mr. DiMichele served in the Army during WWII and was a member of the Hudson American Legion. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude (nee McCandles); and his sisters, Margaret Berardi, Virginia Cramer and Angeline DeVito, and is survived by his son, Tim, of Hudson, grandchildren, Victoria (Anthony Mannarino) DiMichele, Matthew (Deidre) DiMichele and Christopher DiMichele; and great grandson, Jaxon.

Friends will be received May 4 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Johnson-Romito Funeral Home in Hudson. Mass of Christian Burial will be May 5 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 340 N. Main St. Burial is at St. Mary's Cemetery.
