Robert Hale Sweet Jr., 69, of Kent, died Dec. 5, 2013.
Mr. Sweet was born to the late Robert H. Sweet Sr. and Mary L. (Meeker) Sweet, July 13, 1944, in Ravenna.
He graduated from Kent State University in 1962. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in July 1962 and was honorably discharged in July 1968. He married Jean Bobrowicz in 1979, and lived together in Munroe Falls before relocating to Pompano Beach, Fla. in 2009.
Mr. Sweet was the senior vice president / CEO of Hudson Printing until he retired in 2009.
He enjoyed golfing and was a devoted family man. He was a dedicated fan of the Ohio State University athletics and Cleveland sports.
He is survived by his wife, Jean, and their son, Robert; daughter-in-law, Julie; and grandson, Theodore Sweet of Park Hills, Ky. He also is survived by his brother, Ronald Sweet of Lakeland, Fla., and sister, Suzann Nolte, of Akron.
The family is requesting memorials be made to the ALS Foundations of Florida and Northern Kentucky, Paralyzed Veterans of America and the Veterans Administration Hospital of Miami, Florida.
A celebration of his life is slated for Jan. 11 at 2 p.m. at Roses Run Country Club in Stow.
