Frank Fisher WWII veteran

Frank B. Fisher, 92, died peacefully Dec. 9, 2013.

He was the husband of 65 years to the late Norma (nee Larsen); father of Donald (Lee), Jeffrey (Carol), Douglas (Melissa) Fisher and Kathryn (Jeffrey) Spaeth; grandfather of John (Jenny), Thomas, Gregory, Tyler, Shelby Fisher and Julie Fisher (deceased), Amy (Brian) Vavra, and Michael and Alexandra Spaeth; great-grandfather of Bailey Fisher and brother-in-law of Jacqueline Krabill.

Mr. Fisher was born in 1921 in Lisbon and served with the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific during World War II. He graduated from Hiram College and received his MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania before embarking on a lifelong banking career that brought him to Cleveland from New York City. Mr. Fisher was President of Capital National Bank and Regional President of BancOhio National Bank before its acquisition by National City Bank. He served as President of the Ohio Banker's Association, Treasurer of the American Cancer Society National Board of Trustees, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Hiram College, and was a member of the Union Club and The Country Club.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, golfing, vacations, and his retirement with Norma to Sanibel Island, Florida. The family offers special thanks to the staff at Laurel Lake Retirement Community and the caretakers from Crossroads Hospice for their kindness and support during his illness.

The is no visitation and a private interment. A memorial service will be Jan. 3 at noon, at the First Congregational Church of Hudson, 47 Aurora St. Memorial donations may be made to the Fisher All-Faith Chapel at Hiram College, c/o Hiram College Development Office, P.O. Box 87, Hiram, Ohio 44234.
