Robert f. Hudecek

Awarded a Purple Heart and Bronze Star

Robert F. Hudecek, 89, of Twinsburg and formerly of Northfield, died Dec. 1, 2013.

Mr. Hudecek was a decorated serviceman who served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII receiving a Purple Heart, a Bronze Star and many other awards.

He was the beloved husband of the late Mary Irene "Oz" (nee Cvecko), loving father of Lee (Letty) Hudecek, Dianne Fihe, Jayne (Steven) Lewin, Margaret (Paul) Zillman, Robert J. (Cheryl) Hudecek, Glenn (Kathi) Hudecek, Donna (Tracy) Fort and Carol (Greg) Meyer, loving grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle to many, and dear brother of five late brothers and sisters.

Retirement years were spent golfing, bowling and traveling with his late wife, most memorably to meet family members in Europe.

Mr. Hudecek's family would like to acknowledge the care he received from the Veterans Administration staff members, Dr. Hasman, Denise and Wes; The Sprenger staff at Grand Village Retirement Community; and the end of life care provided by Hospice.

Memorials be made to assist the Ohio Western National Cemetery at OWRNC Advisory Committee, P.O. Box 8, Rittman, OH 44270 or to St. Barnabas Catholic Church, 9451 Brandywine Road, Northfield, OH 44067 (direct to Building Fund on envelope).

Services were at the church. Interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.

Arrangements handled by Johnson-Romito Funeral Home in Northfield.
