Marjorie Jane (Weigand) Warner, 88, died Oct. 19, 2013.
Mrs. Warner was born May 31, 1925, in Dover, Ohio. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Joseph Richard Warner. They were married on April 1, 1944, and made their home in Canton since 1955. Mrs. Warner is predeceased by parents, William and Sarah Weigand, four brothers and one sister.
She will be deeply missed by her beloved husband, their children, Lorraine (Preston) Cook of Sharon Center, Marc (Gay Smith) Warner of Canton, Lynne (Michael) Dragomier of Canton and Marsha (Rod) McGregor of Hudson; her grandchildren, Preston Joseph (P.J.) Cook, Melissa (Ross) Roadruck, John Warner, Michael J. (Terra) Dragomier, Matthew Dragomier, Drew McGregor and Kate McGregor; and great grandson, Lucas Dragomier.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend, Mrs. Warner also was a gifted artist, gardener, chef, host, home decorator, seamstress and floral designer. She studied scripture, read voraciously, laughed heartily and was a fearless servant to the poor and suffering. She insisted her bridge game was merely average.
Mrs. Warner's life was celebrated at a funeral Mass at Christ the Servant Parish in Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church with Msgr. Lewis F. Gaetano as celebrant, where Mrs. Warner and her husband were longtime faithful members. Private burial for the family took place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to St. Joseph Care Center in Louisville, or the Food Bank of Christ the Servant Parish. For those unable to attend services, you may register online at the "On Line Registry Page" at www.wackerlyfuneralhome.com.
