Former Hudson resident Doris Anne (Christiansen) Anderson, 95, died Sept. 20, 2013 at Wesley Acres in Des Moines, Iowa.
Mrs. Anderson was born July 19, 1918, and graduated from Harlan High School in 1936 as valedictorian of her class. She graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in piano performance. After graduation, she became a music instructor in public schools in Iowa and later in Ohio, as well as providing private instruction in piano for many years.
Mrs. Anderson has been a resident of Wesley Acres in Des Moines for the past nine years where she often played the piano for residents. Her memberships included Plymouth Congregational Church, PEO Chapter LA and The University of Iowa Alumni Association.
Mrs. Andrerson is survived by: nieces, Catharine Christiansen Hollenberg of Clarks Summit, Pa. and Laura Christiansen Morse of Boston, and their children. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marcus Anderson, and brother, Elliott Christiansen.

A memorial service was Sept. 27 at the Wesley Acres Community Room. Burial was in Masonic Cemetery.
