Robert "Bob" Edward Condon, 86, died Sept. 19, 2013.
Born in Oklahoma City, Ok., he lived most of his life in the Akron and Hudson areas. A Navy veteran of WWII, he graduated from the University of Akron with a degree in Electrical Engineering in 1952. Mr. Condon retired from Firestone Tire and Rubber Co. after 38 years of service. During his career, he worked on several global projects including Banff-Canada, Thailand, Wrexham-Wales, Nairobi-Kenya, and Sao Paulo-Brazil. He was a member of Christ Church Episcopal, Toastmasters, IEEE, Akron Ski Club, Rotary Club, and active in Boy Scout Troop 320.
Preceded in death by parents, and twin brother William J.; he is survived by his wife of 47 years, Betty (Stanson) Condon; son, Doug (Jo Ellen) Condon; nieces, Pamela (Dan) Fretz, Cheryl (Phil) Nelson, and Cindy (Jesse) Payne; great niece, Gen; great nephew, Spyke.
Services were at Christ Church Episcopal with The Rev. Larry C. Minter officiating. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park.
