Catherine (Cathy) Lou LeDonneRetired Hudson teacher

Catherine (Cathy) Lou LeDonne, 78, of Harrisonburg, Va., died March 20, 2013, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital. She retired after 35 years teaching kindergarten for the Hudson Schools.

Mrs. LeDonne was born March 30, 1934, to the late William and Olive Moats. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Frank LeDonne and her sister, Mary Annis.

A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she also was a gifted artist -- painting portraits and cross-stitching original designs. She also enjoyed gardening, sewing, reading and singing.

She leaves her three loving daughters and son-in-law, Catherine LeDonne of Hudson, Patricia LeDonne of Roanoke, Va., and Barbara and Richard Rowe, of Lexington, Va. She also leaves four loving granddaughters Ruth, Lucinda, Francis, and Natalie; and two brothers and their wives, Vincent and Jeanie Moats and Kenneth and Barbara Moats, all of Fresno, Calif.; brother-in-law and wife Eugene and Mary Etta LeDonne and sister-in-law Lola LeDonne all from Fairmont, W.Va. A mass of Christian burial was March 23, 2013 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, in Lexington, Va., with Father Joseph D'Aurora officiated.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2840 Electric Road, Suite 106 A, Roanoke, Va. 24018, or to the American Diabetes Association, 503 E. Main St., Suite 200, Richmond, Va. 23219. Arrangements were handled by Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, VA.
