JoAnn Morris Brown, 75, of Aurora, Colo., died Jan. 23, 2013.
Born in Kent, the oldest daughter of Jayne Gougler Morris and Webb Morris, she graduated from Stephens College in Columbia, Mo., with a degree in fine arts, and later married Ted L. Brown in 1957. An avid painter, reader and gardener, she raised her family of four daughters in Hudson and later in Aurora, Colo.
She is survived by her daughters, Vicky (Keith) Mahn-DiNicola of Tucson, Valery (Christopher) Godino of Las Vegas, and Deirdre Haney (Paul) of Denver; grandchildren, Katherine and Michael Mahn, Genevieve and Gage Godino, and Ted and Marjorie Haney; great-grandchildren, Vanessa Pollock and Charlotte Mahn; her sister's husband, Marsh Lane of Ravenna; and niece, Elizabeth (Darrin) Lane Chapin of Warren. She is preceded in death by her sister, Judith Morris Lane; brother, Charles Morris; and daughter, Vanessa Brown.
A celebration of life was Jan. 26 in Colorado. A graveside ceremony for friends and family will be at 10 a.m. Feb. 8 at Standing Rock Cemetery in Kent. Share memories of JoAnn at HoranCares.com.
