Harriet Subers Dannenhauer Worked for U.S. government

Harriet Subers Dannenhauer died peacefully Jan. 4, 2013, at The Elms in Hudson.

She was born June 3, 1915, in Haddon Heights, N.J., the second child of Charles William Dannenhauer and Marion Subers and sister of "Grandpa Bob" as he was affectionately know She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with honors in psychology. She worked many years for the U.S. Treasury Department in Korea, Greece, England and France. Traveling was her hobby.

Miss Dannenhauer was known to her family and friends as Aunt Hattie. She is survived by her niece and nephew-in-law, Norma and Bruce Lapierre of Hudson; grand nieces, Michelle (Michael) Mehl of Vancouver, Wash., and Lisa (Tim) Kennedy of Cincinnati; grand nephews, James (Maria) Lapierre of Upper Arlington and Mark (Jennifer) Lapierre of Killeen, Texas; and nine great-grand nieces and nephews, Cameron, Tori, Sean, Matthew, Shannon, Isabelle, Jean-Luc, Morgan and Bailee.

A "Celebration of Life" service will be Jan. 18 at the Chapel on the upper floor of the First Congregational Church, 47 Aurora Street at 10 a.m.
