Nancy Jane Foster Rescued more than 1,000 animals

Nancy Jane Foster (nee Ingalls), 66, of Birmingham died Dec. 23, 2012, after a seven-week illness.

Ms. Foster was born in Milford, Conn. She had been a Wakeman resident for the past 23 years, moving from Hudson.

She saved more than 1,000 animals, including horses, cats and dogs. Using healthy horses she did equine therapy for children with disabilities at Blairs Sunset Haven.

She is survived by her sons, James Foster of Wakeman and Christopher Ward (Lisa) Foster of Hudson; grandchildren, Heidi, Derrick and Robbie Foster, Joshua Nichols, Cullen Keegan, Paige, Emily and Brooklyn Foster; and sister, Cathy Ingalls of Texas.

Her parents, Austin and Edith (nee Brown) Ingalls, preceded her in death.

Services are private. The Riddle Funeral Home in Vermilion is entrusted with arrangements.
