Leonard A. Strong Served in Royal Canadian Air Force

Leonard A. Strong, 89, formerly of St. Augustine, Fla., died Dec. 23, 2012, at Pine Valley Care Center in Richfield.

Born Jan. 15, 1923, in Ontario, Canada, to Helen (nee Muir) and James Leonard Strong, he is survived by his son, Roger of Florida, and sister, Valerie Strong of Hudson.

Mr. Strong served in the Royal Canadian Air Force before moving to the U.S. He worked as an operations engineer working with large cranes. Ultimately he obtained his teaching certificate and taught industrial arts in Florida. He enjoyed sailing and working on his boat.

A memorial service will be held later in St. Augustine, Fla.
