Golfers capture fourth place

The Hudson boys golf team finished in fourth place with a score of 313 at the six-team Hunting University School Invitational Aug. 28 at Windmill Lakes Golf Club in Ravenna.

Cleveland St. Ignatius won the invitational with a 294 and University (304) and Medina (309) finished in second and third place, respectively.

Jackson Stroup led the Explorers with a fourth-place 74. Also contributing were Andrew Borman (76), Brian Ruther (79) and Ryan Rhoades (84). Host Hudson also scored a 153-162 win over Northeast Ohio Conference River Division rival Cuyahoga Falls Aug. 26 at the Country Club of Hudson.

Rhoades placed first for the Explorers with a 36 and Stroup was next with a 37. Ruther and Sam Wolanske each shot a 40.

Hudson was scheduled to visit Nordonia Aug. 31. Results were not available at press time. The Explorers are set to host River Division foe Twinsburg Sept. 2 at 3:30 p.m.
