Boys place second

The Hudson third-grade Kiwanis travel boys basketball team was the runner-up in a tournament Feb. 14 in Jackson. Team members are Aamir Qadri, William Wallace, Michael Caniglia, Dean Palumbo, Max Jewitt, Lucas Advent, Quincy Edge, Will Jackson, Nathan Slater, Matthew Aukerman, Brandon Lal and Riley Feltner. Azam Qadri is the head coach. His assistants are Scott Jackson and Matt Palumbo.

 

Rugby offered

The Hudson Rugby Club is getting set to kick off its 2010 season with indoor practice every Tuesday and Thursday at 6 p.m. at McDowell Elementary, 280 N. Hayden Parkway.

The club is actively recruiting new members. No experience is necessary. The Hudson Rugby Club is a Hudson Community Education and Recreation club program. The Hudson Rugby Club is an HCER sport and is enrolled and governed by USA Rugby, which is the National Governing Body for the sport of Rugby in the U.S. as recognized by the United States Olympic Committee and the International Rugby Board. Umpires needed

A training clinic for hardball, slow-pitch and fast-pitch softball umpires is scheduled to take place March 28 at the City of Streetsboro Parks & Recreation, which is located at 9184 State Route 43, from 1 to 5:30 p.m. There is a $25 registration fee.
