Team wins title

The Great Lakes Textiles won the Hudson Community and Education Men’s Fast Break Basketball League championship Feb. 22.

GLT scored a 58-40 win over Silent Treatment in the championship game to finish 9-1. Silent Treatment concluded the season with a record of 8-2.

Team members included Micah Watts, Evan Wake, Mark Miller, Steve Francis, Brad DiSandis, Rich McCarty, Jason Mitalski and Tom Swidarski.

 

Play softball

The registration deadline for Hudson Girls Softball recreational slow-pitch leagues is March 27.

Slow-pitch programs are for girls in grades kindergarten through eighth grade. The season begins right after the last day of school and runs through mid-July.

Registration forms are available at www.hgsa.org and at the Hudson Community Education and Recreation offices. Call the HGSA information line at 330-656-4894 or e-mail info@hgsa.org for details.

 

Fitzgerald honored

Hudson graduate Liam Fitzgerald, a junior midfielder on the Ohio Dominican (Columbus) University men’s soccer team, recently was named to the All-Association of Independent Institutions first team and also to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics’ first team.

Fitzgerald is majoring in business management with a minor in Spanish.
