Giving Parents a Hand SeriesMarch 3, 2010
Cleveland Clinic's Children's Hospital presents the 2010 "Giving Parents a Hand" Series. The first installment of the series will be held on Tuesday, March 30, and is titled "Navigating Toilet Training." It will be led by Dr. Gerard Banez, from noon - 1p.m. in the Lerner Research Institute, Room NA5-24 at the corner of E. 100th St. and Carnegie Ave. Raising healthy children physically and emotionally is a difficult job, and specialists from Cleveland Clinic Children's Hospital's Center for Pediatric Behavioral Health have developed a unique monthly series to help parents address many of the most common issues. These sessions are free, and reservations are recommended, but not required. Below is a brief detail of this months discussion. For more information or to make reservations, contact Kristina Raleigh or Mary Walsh at 216/ 445-7574. 3/30/2010- Giving Parents a Hand: Navigating Toilet Training (Dr. Gerard Banez)The purposes of this presentation are to (1) review surprising facts about toilet training, (2) outline child and parent readiness criteria, (3) describe helpful training strategies, (4) discuss potty seats, pull-ups, and other training accessories, and (5) discuss obstacles and problems in training. The importance of a patient, positive, and encouraging approach will be emphasized. Comments
