Night 4 Pink, a breast cancer fundraiser hosted by Downtown 140 Restaurant, raised nearly $65,000, according to Kurt Nygaard, founder of Night 4 Pink. That is 35 percent more than last year's total.
Of the total, $7,900 was donated to the Susan G. Komen, Northeast Ohio Affiliate's Race for the Cure. Additionally, a donation of $57,000 was made to the Triple Negative Breast Cancer Foundation, which supports research toward treatment and a cure for this particularly virulent form of breast cancer.
"Night 4 pink wishes to thank all of our corporate and individual sponsors, event patrons as well as the many volunteers that have made this third annual event such an awesome success and we wish all current and previous breast cancer patients a healthy new year," Nygaard said.
The event took place on four Sunday evenings during National Breast Cancer Awareness month in October. Patrons enjoyed live music, food, wine and live auctions.
