Charlene M. Tomechko, 61, of Munroe Falls, died April 6, 2009, at her residence.

She was born Nov. 6, 1947, in Akron, to Robert and Florence (Griggy) Grassbaugh. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, Diamond Dames Chapter. Mrs. Tomechko enjoyed writing about philosophical and religious issues primarily associated with Catholicism; her articles were published in various related journals. She maintained a conservative Catholic blog on the Internet, which had a worldwide following. She also won many awards for her sewing and participated in numerous craft shows with her own designs in other media.

She is survived by her husband, Paul Tomechko, whom she married on Feb. 7, 1970; daughter, Sara (Jeff) Whitson of Akron; grandson, Jacob Whitson; mother-in-law, Mary Tomechko of Cuyahoga Falls; aunt, Ann Kimak of Parma; brother-in-law, Dale (Julie) Tomechko of Idaho; sister-in-law, Carol Roctz of Northfield; nephews, Chris (Brandy) Roctz of Northfield and Paul F. Tomechko of Idaho; and many cousins.

She was buried at Standing Rock Cemetery.
