Hudson -- They have both the look and smell of fresh baked, frosted treats -- but the cookies and cupcakes made and sold by Tammy Brodbeck from her Hudson home are more for soothing than snacking.
Brodbeck started her home-based bath and body company, milk and cookeez, late last year after her husband was laid off from a medical research company.
"Our bath and body treats look and smell like edible products," Brodbeck said. "I use mostly natural ingredients in many of the products, although there are a few that use traditional bath product bases."
She began with one item, bath salts baked in the shape of a cookie, when her daughter wanted a present for her second-grade teacher.
She said the product line has now grown and includes "fizzies and bath bombs."
Brodbeck also said she has "sweet spa parties," which are "birthday parties that are all inclusive for a sweet spa time." While most orders are placed online and delivered, the store accommodates local pick up of orders.
The focus of the company is fun and whimsical, while also Earth conscious.
"My belief is that a bath product line can be both fun and colorful, while also being good for you," Brodbeck said.
