Music program fundraiser scheduled
The Hudson High School Music Association will sponsor its annual fruit, candy and cheesecake sale through Nov. 5, with delivery beginning Dec. 6. The proceeds from this sale are placed into a trip fund for Hudson High School music students. Call Doug Hauenstein at 330-656-0603 for more information.
Montessori to host Pumpkin Patch Oct. 18
Hudson Montessori School, 7545 Darrow Road, will host its annual Pumpkin Patch Fall Festival from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 18 at the school grounds on Darrow Road. It includes children's games, pumpkin and mum sales, and a cash raffle. Admission and parking are free. For more information, call 330-650-0424.
Help plan prom
Parents of Hudson High School seniors are invited to a meeting at 7 p.m Oct. 14 in Room C212 at HHS to help plan after prom activities. Many volunteers are needed to help coordinate all aspects of the event in the high school after the May 29 prom. Volunteers can help with decorations, food, entertainment and fundraising.
Parents offer online forum on math
Parents for Math Education offers a forum for the exchange of ideas about the math program in Hudson. Parents can visit the blog mathparents.wordpress.com/ to read commentary and post comments. PFME is composed of parents from Hudson who are concerned about the math curriculums in Hudson schools and about the upcoming recommendation for a new high school mathematics textbook curriculum selection in December 2008. Market Day orders due
Orders for the Community First October Market Day sale are due Oct. 14 by noon. Orders can be picked up Oct. 18 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Market Day facility on Industrial Parkway off of Terex Road. Order forms are available at school offices and the Hudson library. Initiative helps build character in kids
Community First, with support from the Hudson Rotary, Hudson Kiwanis, Hudson Community Foundation and The Edge Sports Performance Academy, will bring the character building initiative called Coaching 4 Life to the Hudson Community during 2008-09 school year. The developer of the program, Wade Salem, has already conducted two of a series of character building trainings for coaches and community leaders on how adults in those positions can help to support, motivate and encourage the development of the complete student/athlete/child.
