Love dogs? Crazy for kitties? Can't get enough stories about our four-footed friends?
Then do I have a blog for you. Check out "Erica's Ark: Discussions about all creatures, great and small," at http://blogs.dixcdn.com/erica. You can also find it on our Web site at . Scroll down to the blogs, located on the lower right-hand side of the Web site.
From stories about my beagle to discussions about whether pit bulls should be banned to a CD written by a gorilla, my blog runs the gamut.
A blog, by the way, is an online journal of sorts. It's a place where one can post their thoughts on a variety of subjects for others to read and reply to. Sort of an evolving stream-of-consciousness conversation that is open to anyone able to get online.
The Web is littered with abandoned blogs, projects that people were all fired up about initially and posted entries to several times a day, then slowly lost interest in. Since I didn't want that to happen to me, I waited until I came up with a subject that I am truly passionate about.
And animals are definitely it.
Let me share from the "About Erica" entry on Erica's Ark:
Friends often comment how I greet their pets before I greet them. I can't help it -- something about those fuzzy little faces demand my immediate attention. Especially Todd, my beagle.
Dogs are my absolute favorite. I rarely pass up an opportunity to dog-sit for friends. But cats, birds, fish, frogs (do NOT get me started about my frog obsession!) -- I love them all. And, in my position over our 10 weekly newspapers, I read a lot of stories about our four-footed friends -- some good, some not so good, and some downright tragic -- but all are worth chatting about.
So I hope to use this blog to merge my love of writing and my passion for animals. I hope you enjoy, and please, share your animal stories with me. There's always room for one more on Erica's Ark.
I hope you take a moment to stop by and check it out. I'd love to hear what you think.
