Restaurant raises $1,500 for fireworks

Vue Restaurant's "Caribbean Party with a Purpose" June 27 raised $1,500 to benefit Hudson Community Foundation's endowment for the city's annual fireworks display. More than 150 people attended the themed event and enjoyed Chef Rick Carson's "Island Buffet," specialty rum drinks and margaritas. Music was preformed by Victory Boulevard. Guests and staff were dressed in tropical attire, and the restaurant was decorated in a Caribbean motif.

"The Hudson Community Foundation is thrilled with the commitment and support Vue Restaurant is providing to the Hudson fireworks which have been an important community event for decades," said Bill Sedlacek, chairman of the Hudson Fireworks Committee.

Organizers say the "Party with a Purpose" will be an annual event to benefit Hudson community organizations. Charitable organization interested in being considered as a benefactor for this fundraiser should e-mail mike @ vue-restaurant.com.
