The Hudson girls lacrosse squad has been dominant throughout the season.
As a result, the Lady Explorers got the No. 2 seed in the Ohio state playoffs.
Hudson has a bye in the opening round of the North Region and is scheduled to play the Gates Mills Hawken-Walsh Jesuit winner May 16 at Lavelli Field. Game time is set for 6 p.m. Hawken is scheduled to play Walsh May 12.
"We are fortunate that we get to see all of the teams in our bracket this week, so we will have some time to make adjustments and create new plays for the upcoming playoffs," said Lady Explorers head coach Joya Mitchell/
There are two teams from the North Region and two teams from the South Region that will eventually play in the state semifinals May 30 in Medina.
Chagrin Falls, which earned an 11-10 home win over Hudson earlier in the season, got the top seed.
Rounding out the top six seeds are Medina, Shaker Heights Hathaway Brown, Rocky River Magnificat and Cleveland Heights.
"If we win the second-round game, we could potentially be playing either Magnificat or Hathaway Brown," Mitchell said. "Our goal is to be playing in the regional final game."
That would take place May 21 at Laurel High School in Shaker Heights. The Lady Explorers were scheduled to host Magnificat May 5. Results were not available at press time.
They are set to conclude the regular season on the road against Shaker Heights May 7 and Hathaway Brown May 9. Both contests are slated to begin at 5 p.m.
