Meeting scheduled
The Hudson Hawks Youth Football and Cheerleading Parent Information Night is scheduled to take place May 8 at 7:30 p.m. at Hudson High School, Room A211.
The meeting will include a program overview and a question-and-answer period along with an opportunity to register for all levels, including the varsity (seventh grade) and Pee Wee (age 7) teams. In addition, registration for all teams will is set for May 17 from 8:30 a.m. to noon at the Hudson High School (weight room entrance). Registration forms and fee will be needed.
Registration forms have been distributed to students through the schools and also are available at the Hudson Recreation Office.
Registration also can be done online at www.hudsonhawks.com. The registration deadline is June 1.

Smaga shoots 242
Hudson resident Kenny Smaga, a junior on the Denison (Granville) University men's golf team, posted a total of 242 strokes (79, 82 and 81) during Denison's fourth-place finish at the North Coast Athletic Conference Championship recently at Granville Golf Course.
Denison finished the 54-hole event with a 940, finishing behind Wittenberg (938), Allegheny, Pa., (922) and Ohio Wesleyan (887).
Duo plays baseball
Hudson graduates John Hornke and Chris Beesley are members of the Southern Ohio Copperheads, a baseball team in the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League.
This is a league consisting of college players who are looking to play over the summer.
