Trustees of the Hudson Rotary Foundation have approved $45,230 in grants during the fiscal 2006-07 year to support education and quality of life in Hudson.
Trustees awarded $10,000 in scholarships for Hudson High School students.
The only students at Hudson High School who are not eligible for the Hudson Rotary Scholarship program are the sons and daughters of Rotarians.
In addition, the trustees awarded:
* $6,328.50 to Hudson Boy Scout Troop 321 for capital improvements to the "log cabin" on the Hudson Green and to fund various scouting programs;
* $2,000 to Hudson Veteran's Memorial Garden;
* $1,000 to 3-2-5 Marine Foundation SJ Phillip Fund to fund the special needs of Sgt. Shurvon J. Phillip;
* $1,000 to Hudson Job Search;
* $1,000 to Cuyahoga Youth Development Center for a matching grant to support scholarships for those students achieving their GED at the CYDC and attending higher education at the Cuyahoga Community College;
* $600 to fund the Hudson High School Career Awareness Program;
* $500 to Hudson Bandstand; and
* $385 to North Coast Tuskegee Airman.
The Hudson Rotary Foundation Inc. reviews grants in September and March.
