WRA welcomes tenor

The sixth season of Music from the Western Reserve will continue April 27 at Hudson's Western Reserve Academy with tenor Timothy Culver.

The Northeast Ohio-based soloist has performed with regional ensembles and companies such as the Cleveland Opera, Lyric Opera Cleveland, The Cleveland Orchestra and Lansing Lyric Opera. Culver received his degrees from Kent State University, where he is no an assistant voice professor.

Culver will be accompanied by pianist Cara Chowning, who received degrees from Northwestern University and the Cleveland Institute of Music.

The recital begins at 5 p.m. in the academy's historic chapel, 115 College St., and will include works of Rossini, Beethoven, Donizetti and Verdi.

Culver also will sing Italian songs such as "O solo mio" and "Funiculi-funicula."
