HUDSON - Voters by a 54 percent to 46 percent margin approved the school district's Issue 9 on Tuesday, clearing the way for the district to begin its plan to replace many of its outdated computers.
Issue 9 passed with 1,812 voting for the levy and 1,517 voting against it, according to final but unofficial results from the Summit County Board of Elections.
The 1.5-mill, five-year replacement permanent improvement levy will generate about $1.385 million annually for the Hudson City School District to be used for repairs and renovations to school buildings and properties. It will raise $285,000 more per year than the levy it replaces, which will be used to buy new computers.
The levy will cost the owner of a $300,000 home about $26 more per year.
