Voters OK village levy renewals for fire, roads

Boston Heights -- Voters approved two renewal levies for Boston Heights at the Nov. 8 general election.

Voters passed Issue 67, a five-year, 2.75-mill property tax renewal levy for road repairs, 421-198, with 68.01 percent supporting, according to final but unofficial election results from the Summit County Board of Elections. It will raise approximately $197,000 annually and will be used to asphalt roads in the village.

Voters approved Issue 68, a three-year, 0.75-mill property tax levy to fund fire station operations, 425-199, with 68.11 percent supporting. It will raise approximately $53,519 per year for staffing and training of the volunteer fire department personnel.
