Girls soccer team shuts out Mayfield The visiting Hudson girls soccer team earned a 2-0 victory over Mayfield Sept. 1. The Lady Explorers (1-0-1) scored a goal in each half. Jessica Monsman had a goal and an assist and Rylee Fitzgerald also found the net. Jenna Beaugrand added an assist as Hudson outshot the Lady Wildcats 14-1. The Lady Explorers also had a 4-1 advantage on corner kicks. Hudson goalkeeper Hannah Durak needed to make just one save.
Golfers defeat North Royalton The Hudson girls golf team improved to 4-0 in the Northeast Ohio Conference Valley Division after posting a 172-205 victory over North Royalton Sept. 1 at Hinckley Hills Golf Course. Natalie Goodson earned medalist honors with a 40 and Shelby Bitter was right behind her with a 41. Sarah Weber had the third best score of 43 and Jessica Taylor added a 48. Also playing was Miriam Remmers, who shot a 49.
Tennis team routs Garfield Heights The host Hudson girls tennis team improved to 6-0 with a 5-0 victory over Northeast Ohio Conference rival Garfield Heights Sept. 1. Grace Lu (6-0, 6-1), Caela Reis (7-5, 6-1) and Ann Kim (6-2, 6-3) rolled in singles play and the doubles teams of Paige Mollison and Meredith Pacenta (6-1, 6-1) and Katie Abraham and Emily Axelrod (6-0, 6-1) triumphed.
Lester helps CVCA
The visiting Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy girls tennis team earned a lopsided 5-0 victory over Medina Sept. 1. Hudson resident Erika Lester posted a 6-2, 6-0 win at second singles for CVCA (6-0).
