Name: Kathy Reid Age: 30-something ... again! Occupation: Broker/Owner of Prudential Kathy Reid Realty. I'm a former educator who became a realtor. How long have you lived or worked in Hudson? Our family has lived in Hudson for more than 25 years, but I personally have been selling real estate in Hudson for more than 40 years. What is your favorite thing to do in Hudson? Attend the many community activities like the Memorial Day parade, ice cream social, band concerts, pancake breakfasts, sidewalk sales, art show, etc. How would you describe Hudson to someone who has never been here? Hudson is like a slice of New England in Ohio with a charming historic feel but with every modern convenience in a unique blend of tradition and progress. What would you do if you were city manager for a day? I salute our city manager, but I would provide needs assessment, a written performance agreement, a managed system of accountability, and constant communications. What do you like to do in your free time? I love spending time with my husband Steve, my sons Dan, Shane, Brett and their wives and children. I love being in nature, and reading about homes, businesses, and mentoring youth. Are you a member of any clubs or organizations? National Alumni Board of Kent State University, Hudson Chamber of Commerce, St. Mary's Church, Community First; and many professional real estate organizations. What is your favorite movie or television show? Favorite movies are musicals of the 50s and 60s. Favorite television shows are "The Apprentice," and "Undercover Boss." What is the last book you read? "Spark" by Frank Keller about Lincoln Electric's unique guaranteed employment program and how old-fashioned values drive a 21st century corporation. What is your favorite vacation spot? Marco Island, Fla, which was my first goal in real estate: to take my family to the beach. Whom do you admire most, excluding relatives? It's difficult to say just one person. I admire anyone with value, honesty, integrity, commitment, good work ethics, perseverance, strong Christianity. I've really admired a lot of people. Compiled by Dorothy Markulis Comments
