Third-graders to display summer garden projects Sept. 10

Last spring, all second-grade students at Ellsworth Hill Elementary School were offered the opportunity to purchase seed kits through the Hudson Garden Club's Green Thumb program. They were encouraged to plant and care for their gardens over the summer. Now, as incoming third-graders, they have the opportunity to bring the flowers, vegetables and herbs that they grew to the Harvest Fair.

The fair will be Sept. 10 at McDowell Elementary School. All students are invited to bring in a sample or bouquet of what they grew to be put on display at the entrance of the school.

Participants do not have to purchase seeds from the Garden Club in order to participate in the Harvest Fair. Any garden items grown by the children are welcome.

The entries will be on display throughout the day at McDowell. Parents and Hudson residents are invited to stop by during the day to view the arrangements.

Contact Hudson Garden Club youth chairman Bronwyn Pierson at 330-650-1459 or Bronwyn6870@aol.com for more information.
