Runners fare well

at invitational

The Hudson Middle School boys cross country team finished second with 61 points at the 15-team Revere Invitational Aug. 28 at Howe Meadow Park in Peninsula.

Medina Claggett won with 55 points and North Royalton finished third with 101 points.

Kyle Mau and Colin Horgan placed second and third, respectively, with times of 11 minutes, 57.3 seconds and 11:59.56 to lead Hudson.

Rounding out the top five for Hudson were Andrew Incavo (13th, 12:32.34), David McVan (18th, 12:51.47) and Alex Barton (25th, 13:05.58).

The Hudson girls finished fifth with 136 points. Claggett won with 70 points and North Royalton (81) and Copley (116) placed second and third, respectively.

Hudson’s Sarah Wolanske won the race (13:16.85). Hudson’s next two runners were Halle Weber (17th) and Arielle Dalea (20th, 14:33.62).

 

Boys place second

The 12-and-younger Hudson Blue Explorers were the runners-up in the Cleveland Indians International Classic Tournament, which concluded July 4. 

The team had wins against challengers from Ohio, New York and Canada.

Team members are Mac Schoenman, Liam Sullivan, Joey Palumbo, Joey Charpentier, Jack Griffith, Johnny Dudinec, Jacob Neiberlein, Jackson Hickert, Kiefer Price, Connor Milosovic, Danny Baka and Stefan Gaspar.

The coaches Chris Charpentier, Jim Milosovic, Matt Palumbo and Vince Dudinec.

 

Race scheduled

Aurora’s Labor Day Classic 5K and 1-mile runs are planned Sept. 6 at Sunny Lake Park.

Registration is set to begin at 7:30 a.m., with the 1-miler starting at 8:30 and the 5K at 9. Online registration fee until Sept. 2 is $16 for one race or $20 for both, while race day fee is $20 and $22, respectively.
