Hudson -- Early morning motorists encountered huge drifts of "snow" Aug. 24 on East Streetsboro Street at Cheswick Lane.

Vandals apparently poured detergent into a waterfall and pond at the entrance to the Estates at Canterbury housing development at that location, which created huge drifts of foam, some as high as 12 feet, according to a police spokesperson.

An officer on patrol reported the condition at 6:49 a.m. The officer said the constantly flowing suds into East Streetsboro Street were causing a serious road hazard, but it wasn't necessary to close the road.

Firefighters responded to the call and watered down the residual soap with fire hoses, clearing the roadway.

Police have no leads or suspects.
