Hudson -- Three teenagers who called police for help after losing their car keys shortly before midnight Aug. 22, ended up being turned over to the juvenile division for toilet papering a nearby property on Williamsburg Circle. The three male Hudson teens, 16, 14 and 17, said they believed the keys were left in the trunk according to a police spokesperson. The keys were not found after the patrolman opened the trunk, nor were they found in the vehicle. The patrolman reported the juveniles acted "fidgety" and asked them if the keys might be found in a nearby yard. It was determined they had toilet papered a home on the same street, according to a police spokesperson. They were cited for criminal mischief and referred to the police department's juvenile division. Their parents were notified, according to police reports. The keys were not recovered. Theft Aug. 23. Copper spouting removed: A city employee said $250 in copper spouting was removed from an outbuilding on city property near Hines Hill Road at the former Cuyahoga County Youth Development Center sometime earlier. Aug. 19. Attempted theft: A Hudson woman said someone damaged her vehicle's $250 windscreen while attempting to steal it from her convertible, which was parked with the top down, in a lot on Clinton Street between 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Aug. 20. Purse stolen: A Ravenna Road resident said someone took her purse from the front porch of hotel room sometime before 4 p.m. The woman placed her purse on the porch, along with groceries she had just purchased, while she went inside with some of the groceries. When she returned to the porch, the purse was missing, according to a police spokesperson. She said her $15 purse had $200 in cash in it, along with $21 in prescription drugs, a $5 wallet, a state ID card and $50 in cosmetics. Criminal damaging Aug. 22. Tires slashed: The owner of a West Streetsboro Street business said someone slashed two tires on each of his two delivery trucks parked in the lot overnight. The total damage was estimated at $500. Criminal mischief Aug. 22. House egged: A Huntington Road resident said someone egged his home and spread toilet paper in the yard sometime during the night. No damage was reported. Aug. 23. Mailbox struck: A West Case Street resident said someone knocked his plastic mailbox off its post after 9:30 p.m. Damage was estimated at $25. Aug. 18. Items spray painted: Three Holyoke Drive residents said someone spray painted items on their property overnight. A driveway, mailbox, garage door and a vehicle were damaged. Total damage was estimated at $400. Aug. 19. Mulch thrown at house: A Hudson-Aurora Road resident said someone knocked on his door at 10:40 p.m. then later threw mulch from his yard at his house. Aug. 17. Tree swing painted: An Elm Street resident said several items on her street were spray painted, including a tree swing, the sidewalk and a fence. No damage estimate was provided. Aug. 20. Mailboxes damaged: Six residents on Ogilby Drive said their mailboxes were knocked off their posts by an unknown object shortly after 10 p.m. Total damage was $145. Animal at large Aug. 22. Girl bitten by dog: The father of a 14-year-old Hudson girl said his daughter was bitten by a dog outside a resident on Heather Lane while she was soliciting for a local charity at 5:40 p.m. The girl was taken to a local emergency center by her parents for treatment of a puncture wound on her side above her hip bone. Police located the dog owner and warned the owner. No charges were filed. Telecommunication
Aug. 19. Caller using profanity: A Hamden Drive resident said his ex-son-in-law keeps calling him and using profanity. Theft from elderly Aug. 17. Pharmacist reports suspected drug theft: A local pharmacist who delivers to his elderly shut-in customers reported the possible theft of drugs from an elderly woman on Norton Road. A prescription for percocet he had filled recently was missing, according to a police spokesperson. An investigation is pending.
