Hudson Fine Art & Framing Co. has announce the inclusion of its third artist into an issue of Southwest Art Magazine. Throughout the past two years, three of its top selling artists have been featured in the magazine, with the youngest artist, Andrea Orr, receiving the most recent issue's cover, and recognition as the winner of the 2010: 21 under 31 competition. "An artist is one who is specially tuned to perceive the intricacies of nature: the way light caresses and dances upon ordinary items, transforming them into priceless objects; the explosion of color apparent everywhere light falls; the expression on a face," Orr said. "Though anyone can enjoy such beauty, its subtleties are often lost in the hectic busyness of life, causing beauty to quickly lose its significance and value. The duty of the artist is to seek out these glories and capture them in order to remind the preoccupied what they are missing in their endless rush." Hudson Fine Art & Framing's first featured artist was Matthew Hunt. He was recognized in the 2008 Collector's Choice Issue. He has completed hundreds of commissioned portraits and original works which hang in public and private collections around the world. Hudson artist Diane Farr appeared in the November 2009 issue of Southwest Art Magazine as one of the "21 over 31: Up and Coming Artists of Note." After graduating from Duke University, Farr worked for 10 years in Boston in high tech sales and marketing management, indulging her passion for art in her free time. Following a move to Cleveland and the birth of her first child, Farr decided to focus her time and energy on herself and her family. She is working on her master of fine arts degree with the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. Comments
