Natalie Capannelli, 1999 Hudson High School graduate, is featured in New American Paintings Midwest Competition, No. 89. The issue was scheduled to be on newsstands in late August. New American Paintings is a juried exhibition in print. Each edition results from a highly competitive juried competition and presents the work of 40 paints selected from thousands of artists who enter the competition each year. Capannelli's work also was featured at the sixth annual "19" invitational exhibition in July and August at the Asterisk Gallery in Cleveland. Capannelli graduated with honors from Hudson High School and Kent State University. At KSU, she resurrected a student art club and coordinated several artists visits. After graduation, she and two others opened Enthalpy, a gallery/studio space in Kent. They curated several shows highlighting local artists. She then went on to earn her master of fine arts degree at Pratt University in Brooklyn. She has provided graphic art for Hattie Larlham for several major events and fundraisers. Capannelli has taught at a prestigious private school in Seoul, South Korea, since February. Her contract their expires in spring 2011. Comments
