Sarah Miles, a Hudson High School freshman, was voted first runner up in the National's 2010 Cleveland/Akron/Youngstown pageant competition in Independence Aug. 15. She was additionally voted first place in the Miss Photogenic section of the same competition. Sarah was competing in the Miss Jr. Teen section, one of four divisions for young ladies between 7 and 19 competing in modeling routines which included casual and formal wear. Sarah was also able to display her personality and interviewing skills while interviewing with this year's Cleveland/Akron/Youngstown judging panel. Personality is the number one aspect that each contestant is judged on during all phases of the competition. Sarah, 14, who lives in Hudson with her mother, stepfather and sister Hannah, a seventh-grader at Hudson Middle School, secured a position in these local finals by being selected at the preliminary rounds in July. She is now eligible to represent the Cleveland/Akron/Youngstown area at the Cities of America National Competition in Orlando in 2011. Support from community businesses, organizations and private individuals assisted Sarah in participating in this year's competition. Through this sponsorship, she received all the necessary training, rehearsals and financial support. "I am so happy to have done well in the national's pageant and I would like to thank my family, friends and sponsors for all their help and support through this wonderful experience," she said.
