Actors' Summit has announced its 12th season and its first at its new home in Akron. Four of the six shows are regional premieres. The season will run from Oct. 14 through May 22, 2011. The professional theater had been in Hudson since 2001, on Owen Brown Street, until last month. The new location is on the sixth floor of Greystone Hall in downtown Akron, across the street from the John S. Knight Center. The new facility features free parking, full bar service, and the option of "Dinner and a Show." The season includes: * "Mark Twain's A Murder, a Mystery, & a Marriage," a folk musical -- Oct. 14 - Nov. 7 * "A Christmas Carol" -- Nov. 26 - Dec. 29. For eight years, this version of the Dickens classic, adapted by Doris Baizley, held the stage at the Cleveland Play House. Now, after a 22-year absence, this theatrical, creative re-telling of "A Christmas Carol" returns to northeast Ohio. A touring troupe of actors uses mime, imagination, improvisation, and brilliant storytelling to bring Scrooge's redemption to vivid, musical life. * "Romantic Fools" -- Jan. 13 - 30, 2011 From Rich Orloff, the author of the manic comedy "Big Boys," one of the hits of Actors' Summit's 2009 season. * "Becky's New Car," by Steven Dietz -- Feb. 10 -- 27 * "Ladies Man," a French bedroom farce -- March 17 - April 3 * "Some Enchanted Evening -- The Songs of Rodgers & Hammerstein" -- April 21 - May 22. Featuring songs from "Oklahoma," "South Pacific," "The Sound of Music," "Carousel," and "Cinderella." The theater's new box office phone number is 330-374-7568.
