Name: Kristin Keller Age: 43 Occupation: Community Resource Coordinator for Hudson Ministerial Association and Laurel Lake. I've been a social worker in Northeast Ohio for about 18 years. How long have you lived or worked in Hudson? I have lived in Hudson for two years and have worked here for about four years. What is your favorite thing to do in Hudson? Visit the parks and downtown events, especially the Hudson Farmer's Market on Saturdays in the summer. The high school orchestra, band, and theatrical performances are always a treat; exceptional quality and something the whole family can enjoy. How would you describe Hudson to someone who has never been here? A great place to raise a family; a charming small town with outstanding schools and services and caring people. What would you do if you were city manager for a day? Try to talk with as many people who live and work in town as possible in order to identify and address any unmet needs. I like the idea of a senior center, a teen drop-in center, some intergenerational programs. I'd also like to set aside a day to recognize the work of our safety forces, city workers, teachers and child care workers, community volunteers, and so on -- the everyday heroes. What do you like to do in your free time? I enjoy spending time with my husband and kids and our family and friends. We like to attend programs in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, visit museums and art exhibits, take in concerts and plays. I also enjoy photography, poetry, music, baking, knitting, genealogy, and exercising. Are you a member of any clubs or organizations? I belong to a health club, a photography club, the national parks, a church, and several professional associations. What is your favorite movie or television show? I really like independent films, especially those with quirky, interesting characters, and I watch PBS and the major tennis tournaments on TV. What is the last book you read? "Eating Animals," by Jonathan Safran Foer. He's a favorite author, and I'm a big supporter of local foods, family farms, and sustainable agriculture. What is your favorite vacation spot? Lake Erie, U.S. National Parks, France, and visiting family in Sweden. Whom do you admire most, excluding relatives? Anyone who gives selflessly of their time and resources in order to better our community and our world; people who are honest, generous, and kind.
