Equity firm acquires Country Pure Foods

Country Pure Foods, a leading independent producer and distributor of quality premium juices, has been acquired by Mistral Equity Partners and Management from the affiliates of First Atlantic Capital and DN Partners, the company announced Aug. 13.

Country Pure Foods, an Akron-based company, supplies juice to retailers, schools, hospitals and institutions across the nation and is a key manufacturing partner for a number of nationally branded juice companies. According to Mistral, the management team at Country Pure Foods will remain unchanged and continue to have an ownership position in the company.

"We are extremely pleased with our new ownership," said Country Pure Foods' President and CEO Raymond K. Lee of Hudson. "They have vast experience in the food and beverage industries as well as significant resources that can immediately be applied to our strategic growth initiatives."

Mistral, a private equity firm based in New York City, brings specialization in the consumer, retail and consumer focused media sectors and is especially attracted to businesses that are supported by strong demographic trends and fundamental changes in consumer preferences.

"Country Pure Foods' broad product and packaging offerings, along with its ability to service customers across the foodservice, retail and co-pack channels, have positioned the company as an industry leader," said Andrew Heyer, managing partner for Mistral Equity Partners.

Chamber continues education series

The Hudson Area Chamber of Commerce Education Series continues Sept. 3 from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Barlow Community Center with a workshop focused on building sales. Three experts in the field will meet with small groups and offer advice on how to cultivate relationships, motivate sales teams, and boost sales. The cost is $20 for Chamber members and $50 for non-members.

This will be a small-group format, with each group having more than 30 minutes with each expert. Participants will have time to ask questions pertaining specifically to their businesses and gain advice on how to improve their sales efforts.

The experts will include Jeff Nischwitz, founder of Think Again, a training, consulting and coaching company that helps people and organizations build relationships that drive results, navigate change, and improve effectiveness and execution. He is a national speaker and trainer on various topics. He will share his perspectives on shifting from a transactional sales approach to a relationship building model to improve sales results.

Holly Rhoads, a partner of The Ruby Group, will discuss "Incenting your sales team." The Ruby Group provides sales, sales management, and non-traditional business training to more than 200 clients in Northeast Ohio.

Donna Kastner of Enlighten 123 will present "Five ways to power up your prospecting." Kastner works with clients to help them engage in more new business conversations, often through integrated call and digital campaigns.
