Hudson man cited for disorderly conduct in 'road rage' incident

Hudson -- A 54-year-old Hudson man was cited for disorderly conduct after an alleged "road rage" incident Aug. 4 on state Route 91 near Barlow Road.

A 49-year-old Hudson man called police after the 54-year-old's vehicle "cut him off" and blocked his vehicle while he was driving on Route 91 just before 8 p.m.

When police arrived, the 49-year-old's vehicle was still being blocked by the 54-year-old man's vehicle, according to a police spokesperson.

The 54-year-old was cited for disorderly conduct was released at the scene.

Disorderly conduct

Aug. 5. Two people warned about their disorderly conduct: Two Hudson men, reportedly involved in a "road rage" incident at 7:20 p.m. on Hudson-Aurora Road, were both warned by police that their conduct could result in criminal charges.

According to a police spokesperson, a 38-year-old Hudson man came to the police station to report an incidence of road rage after a 54-year-old Hudson man tailgated him on Hudson-Aurora Road. The 38-year-old tapped his brakes, which apparently angered the 54-year-old. Obscenities and hand gestures were exchanged. No one was charged but both men were warned that criminal charges could be filed for disorderly conduct. The 38-year-old man was warned at the police station, the other man was contacted at his home.

Criminal mischief

Aug. 3. Vehicle damaged: Four juvenile girls were referred to the police department's juvenile division after they papered a vehicle parked in a Nicholson Drive driveway with sanitary napkins just before midnight.

Witnesses to the event identified the juveniles, ranging in age from 15 to 17 years of age, according to the police report.

Criminal damaging

Aug. 3. Pry marks on vehicle: A Ravenna woman said someone unsuccessfully attempted to get into her locked vehicle while it was parked in a Clinton Street parking lot sometime between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

Pry marks on the vehicle door caused an estimated $100 in damage, according to the police report.

Aug. 4. Window screen broken: A Towbridge Drive woman said someone damaged a window screen, possibly to gain entrance to the residence. Nothing was reported missing, according to the police report.

No estimate of damage to the screen was provided.

Property damage

Aug. 6. Paint crew damages vehicle: A Macedonia woman drove to the police station after her vehicle was allegedly damaged by a construction crew painting the street center line on Hines Hill Road at 10:30 p.m.

The woman said she was driving east on Hines Hill Road when the crew painting the street center line traveling west came too close and got paint on the left side and underside of her vehicle.

No damage estimate was provided.

Suspicious vehicle

Aug. 2. Resident reports suspicious vehicle: A caller said a suspicious vehicle was parked on Mayflower Lane at Bradford Way with its lights off and two people in it.

A male and female, both 18, were found by police lying in the vehicle's back seat, according to the police report. Police advised the couple to find a more private place. They were warned and released, according to the report.

Aug. 5. Vehicle left with motor running: A passing motorist reported a suspicious vehicle on Church Street near Main Street just before midnight with the motor running.

Police located the owner at a local business who had accidentally started the vehicle with the remote start on the key chain.

Animal complaint

Aug. 5. Aggressive deer frightens residents: Police were dispatched to Hudson Springs Park after police received several complaints of an aggressive deer at the park shortly after 8 a.m.

According to the police report, one of the complainants said the deer, a doe, ran after her and her dog. An officer walked the path but did not spot the deer. The officer asked dispatch to contact the city service department to see if they could erect a temporary sign advising pedestrians of the situation.

Theft

Aug. 8. Articles stolen from vehicle: A Streetsboro woman said a cell phone and a global positioning system was removed from her vehicle while it was parked in a lot on Darrow Road sometime between 6:55 and 8:50 p.m.

Loss was estimated at $500. There was no evidence of forced entry.

Disturbing the peace

Aug. 8. Loud music: A Fairway Boulevard resident said the band music at the nearby Country Club of Hudson on Middleton Road was too loud, shortly after midnight.

The manager of the facility was advised of the noise ordinance and said she would reduce the noise level. No charges were filed.
